Lycée Henri Brulle-Libourne, France

We are a vocational school on a human scale (500 students, 50 teachers, 20 staff).
The school is located in Gironde, north to Bordeaux. Students, aged 15-19, are learning the following trades : reception, sales, trade, carpentry, woodworking, painting, plastering.

The observation for several years is that we have in the Libourne region, a school population in great social and economic difficulty. 62.5% of students come from underpriviledged backgrounds, and pupils suffer from a very poor image of themselves. For the past four years, the school has reiterated this observation and in response (among others) has decided to engage in a process of opening up to the international and european community. The 2016-2020 school project has therefore placed under axis 1 aimed at restoring students’ ambition, with international openness being the first way to tackle it. The revised version 2022-2025 keeps the same ambition by selecting action key 6 of the academic project concerning school ambition with a complete part dealing with european partnerships.

Since 2019, the organisation of the european projects is based on a small, experienced and stable team, and the number of persons involved in the projects are much more numerous. Some more have volunteered to join the committee in case of resignation.
We have since then come up with a real european strategy by developing KA1 and KA2 projects on a regular basis. Staff members begin to attend international courses and we hope to have some selected students spend 6 months of training periods after their high school graduation.
We are very happy to create new partnerships with european countries and beyond
