IES BEZMILIANA
IES Bezmiliana is a public high school in the metropolitan area of Malaga offering all educational levels: compulsory Secondary education, Higher education and vocational training. There is also special vocational training for those who fail in the standard educational system in order to give them the possibility to learn a job although not highly qualified.
Students start at our school when they are aged twelve and may stay until they finish their vocational training at the age of 22.There are about 1.500 students and 113 teachers.
Every year we develop some activities to make the students think about different behaviors as discrimination against women, ethnic minority, gender violence, different abilities and try to develop respect and tolerance. We have as well our week of solidarity to rise funds for families in need.
Our school is a reference for inclusive education in the East area of the province. IES Bezmiliana was the first one to cater for deaf students in the area. In the Councellor department we have a highly qualified team of professionals for non-hearing students.
We have been taking part since 2009 in an English bilingual project in order to improve the language skills of the students. So, our school has a long experience in international projects and exchanges with other European schools. All the experiences we have had so far show us the importance of exchanges with other countries and cultures as well as the importance of seeing other points of view which can improve their personal and professional skills

Moreover, it is involved in the so-called TIC project, which was developed to encourage the use of Information Technologies in the school. Likewise, a quality teaching program has been developed by the school within the Junta de Andalucía frame.
